Wine Profile
Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
Reflecting the quality and tradition of the Montalcino region in Tuscany, this wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, resulting in a vibrant bright red color with ruby-violet hues. Capo Borgo offers a distinctive nose with winy aromas complemented by prominent hints of ripe red fruits like cherry, along with a touch of violet. On the palate, the wine is dry, smooth, and pleasantly balanced, showcasing flavors of red berries, subtle spice, and a hint of earthiness typical of Montalcino's Sangiovese. The finish is clean and refreshing, making this wine versatile and suitable for a variety of occasions.
Vineyard Notes
Vineyard location: on the hills in the municipality of Montalcino.
Production Notes
The winemaking process involves fermenting the grapes in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature over 16 days, followed by maturation in Slavonian oak barrels for four months and an additional month in Tuscan oak casks. After that, the wine is aged for eight months in the bottle before being released.
Winemaker Notes
A simple and fun expression of Sangiovese grapes. A great food wine with a lively personality.
Food & Wine Pairing
Sauce-dressed pasta, stewed meat, roast, cheese.
