Wine Profile
Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
The wine has a bright, pale straw color, indicating its freshness and youth. The bouquet is aromatic and expressive, showcasing a mix of floral and fruity notes. You can expect prominent aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and hints of tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit. There are also subtle undertones of green apple and a touch of minerality. On the palate, La Tosa Riodeltordo 2022 is fresh and lively. It has a well-balanced acidity that gives it a crisp and clean profile. The flavors of citrus and tropical fruits carry through from the nose, accompanied by notes of peach and apricot. The wine also has a slight hint of herbaceousness, adding to its complexity.
Vineyard Notes
Vineyard location: Sorriso, in Valnure. Soil type: clay, silt-like soil (ancient red earth), not very fertile. Altitude: 190-210 meters above sea level. Training system: Guyot growing system 60%, Casarsa 40%.
Production Notes
5,000 bottles produced. After a soft pressing of the whole grapes the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 15-16 C. After that the wine rests for 5 months on its fine lees with batonages and the bottling happens during March, about 6 months after the harvest.
Winemaker Notes
Originated from a selection of our finest grapes registered in the Valnure DOC registry, cultivated along the small river known as the Rio del Tordo, with a fluvial habitat that echoes saline aromas and personality in this wine.
Food & Wine Pairing
Pairs with meat and seafood appetizers, light first courses, both freshwater and saltwater fish, can accompany an entire light meal.
