Wine Profile
Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
Dark garnet with violet reflections.
On the nose the wine is fruity, with woodland berry fruits, and notes of violets.
On the palate the wine is dry, full flavoured, with mild tannins but firm in structure.
Vineyard Notes
From the classic growing area in Gries, a district of Bolzano, and from the south of Alto Adige, emphasized by deep alluvial soils consisting of sand and debris such as granit and porphyr. The hot microclimate found in this particular valley basin is an ideal mix for a superb Lagrein wine.
Production Notes
The fermentation process lasts approximately 15 days, using temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. During this process the important ingredients of the grapes are carefully extracted using their own CO2.
Food & Wine Pairing
Lagrein's tannic structure and refreshing acidity mean it pairs well with hearty dishes such as boeuf bourguignon, ragù, and Tyrolean goulash. Aged mountain cheeses like Piave Vecchio, Montasio, Gruyère, and Comté work well too!
